About Me
I’m Nancy.
I’m a psychodynamic and EMDR therapist for people who are self-aware, overwhelmed, and tired of understanding their patterns without knowing how to change them. I do this work at ParityWell, a leading psychotherapy practice in New York, alongside a thoughtful team of clinicians committed to nuanced, high-quality care.
My style is warm, direct, curious, and collaborative. You don’t need to arrive with a perfectly organized story, or even know exactly what you want from therapy.
We can start with what feels most present and figure it out together.
Outside the Therapy Room
I’m usually knitting something, learning to tattoo, planning a trip, or being closely supervised by my two cats.
I value humor, creativity, honesty, and making room for the parts of us that don’t fit neatly into a clinical description.
I embrace my own weirdness and hope therapy can be a place where you feel less pressure to edit yours.
How I Work
Therapy with me moves between insight, emotional processing, practical support, and the occasional much-needed reality check. We’ll pay attention to the patterns underneath what’s happening, because the ways you learned to survive tend to follow you.
Psychodynamic and relational therapy help us explore how earlier experiences continue to shape your relationships, emotions, and sense of self.
EMDR and parts work can help us work with experiences that you understand intellectually but still feel in your body.
I integrate ERP, ACT, CBT, and DBT when structure, skills, or concrete experimentation would be helpful.
You don’t have to choose the “right” kind of therapy. We’ll adapt the work to what you need.
Who I Help
You might be here because…
You understand yourself deeply, but still feel stuck.
Past experiences keep showing up in your present relationships.
Your brain feels loud, obsessive, scattered, or constantly on alert.
You’re exhausted from masking, performing, or holding everything together.
Your relationship with food, your body, substances, or control has become complicated.
You want greater intimacy - but vulnerability, shame, or fear keeps getting in the way.
You’re burned out and wondering whether life is supposed to feel this difficult.
I frequently work with trauma and PTSD, OCD, neurodivergence, substance use, eating concerns, identity, intimacy, relationships, and major life transitions.
